ctfmon.exe "kills" the quick launch toolbar after every restart.
I'm using the Windows 7 RC Version. Idisabled the ctfmon.exe from the autostart, because I didn't knew what it was for. Now I know it and wanted to add it again, but this causes that my quick launch toolbar is gone after every restart and I have to add it with every new start. I think it's a bug with the ctfmon.exe, because this one is the only "trigger" for my problem. I tried a lot of solutions which worked for older Windows versions, but in fact that the quick launch is not a "feature" from Winows 7, I think it's clear why they're not working. I think every custom toolbar has this problem with ctfmon.exe, but I didn't tested it yet.

Why Will Ctfmon.exe Not Go Away When I Remove It from MSConfig?Removing Ctfmon.exe from MSConfig does not disable Ctfmon.exe. For more information about disabling Ctfmon.exe, refer to the "Can I remove the Ctfmon.exe file?" section earlier in this article. Etc.:-> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599 I make my own NewToolbar called MyToolbar dragging shortcuts that I used to keep in Quick Launch. If I reinstall or install new Windows 7 I will restore this from backup, like contacts, favorites, Music Etc.

I think you didn't understand my problem. Starting ctfmon.exe when it was disabled from autostart kills the toolbars on the taskbar. And thats after every restart. Maybe it's a bug or something like that, or there is a solution about that I don't know. After all, I think it's a registry issue.

Check for this problem using a new user account with the Administrator rights (Control panel -> User accounts -> Manage another account -> Create a new account).Do you recieve the error message in this case? If no - probably your current user profile is damaged. If yes - use the clean bootand testthe problem. Keep us informed.Hope this helps. My English is not very well.

Anyway, the the problem is solved. I think the re-installation of my Antivir was the solution, not for sure, but it's the only thing I've changed (And thats just because the program didn't worked like I want).
